The Judging Process

Software eligible for consideration by the judges had to be shipping between January 1st 1996 and 31st March 1997 and available in at least two European languages. For the National Awards, the software must have been produced in the UK, France or Gemany and be in the language of that country. Software must be run under DOS, Windows or OS/2 except in the two Macintosh Grand awards.

Software specialists from Ziff-Davis magazines in France, the UK and Gemany took part in the judging process; submitting products in each category for consideration by the full judging panel. This online database was added to and discussed throughout the first three months of this year, with the judging culminating in a day long meeting of the panel in Munich, where the list of finalist and winners was drawn up.
