Welcome to this brief review of the exhibitions and activities for
visitors to The Natural History Museum in London.
Public exhibitions
The Museum's exhibitions galleries are spread over two wings and are
divided into two major subject areas:

The Life Galleries [incl 7 images]
- The Life Galleries cover a broad range of biological science
subjects including evolution, dinosaurs and other organisms from the
past; human biology and human origins; ecology, botany and exhibitions
on living groups of animals.

The Earth Galleries [incl 6 images].

We apologise for the temporary closure of our Earth Galleries. Explore
our plans for the new and exciting scheme which will reopen in 1996.
The Architecture of The Natural History Museum

The Waterhouse building [incl 5 images].

Ever since The Natural History Museum opened in 1881 the amazing,
Romanesque building, designed by Alfred Waterhouse, has been one of
the most famous buildings in London.

natural world The Natural History Museum also runs courses on the
earth and life sciences including, field study trips for amateurs and
hobbyists.

Opening times
The Natural History Museum is open:
Monday-Saturday 10.00-17.50
Sunday 11.00-17.50
The Museum is closed on the 23-26 of December for the festive season.
Admissions charges
The normal daily entry fees are:
Adult £5.50
Child (5-17 years) £2.80
Family (2 adult and 4 children) £15.00
Concessionary tickets for Senior citizens, UB40 holders, registered
disabled and full time students £3.00
Season tickets to the Natural History Museum and joint season tickets
for the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria
and Albert Museum are also available.
Entry to the Natural History Museum is free for visitors arriving after
16.30 Monday-Friday and after 17.00 Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
