Welcome To HERMES


This is the entry point for the World Wide Web server for the HERMES experiment at DESY.

The HERMES experiment is an internal target experiment in the HERA electron beam. It will measure the spin dependent structure functions of proton and neutron and will determine the fundamental Bjorken Sum Rule. Data taking has just started in spring 1995.

Important NEWS: May 4th, 1994 a longitudinal polarized electron beam has been created in an electron storage ring for the first time.

HEP preprint information is available from the SLAC SPIRES HEP preprint database search. Other preprint servers are located at Cern, at Los Alamos and also in Italy(where?).
