The Alberta Law Reform Institute is the body officially charged with law reform
activity in the Province of Alberta.
This is a state-of-the-art facility for instruction and research in alternative
dispute resolution, an emerging area of the law which explores ways of resolving
disputes outside of the courtroom.
The Centre was founded to encourage and facilitate the interdisciplinary study of
constitutional matters. The Centre's research activities are complemented by an
eduation programme consisting of public lectures, conferences and publications.
The Health Law Institute has a dual mandate: the conduct of research and the
provision of legal education through its programs and activities. The Institute
endeavors to address the significant developments in legislation, case law and
new medical technologies.
This program's main goal is to address the under-representation of Aboriginal
lawyers in Canada and particularly within the Alberta legal profession.
The International Ombudsman Institute is incorporated as a non-profit
organization. Its main object is the promotion of the concept of ombudsman and
the encouragement of its development throughout the world;
LESA is a not-for-profit society with the mandate to provide continuing legal
education to Alberta lawyers.
