"Getting It Together" is the theme of the 1996 AECT conference and professional development seminar on distance education. In order for distance education programs to be effective for learning, many different pieces must fit together -- learners, instructors, different types of technologies, alternate instructional strategies. At this conference, which will itself be collaborative and interactive, participants will share their successes and work on their problems with presenters in key areas of distance education expertise.

Note that you get more meaningful results if you use search engines like Yahoo to hunt for loosely defined topics. Larger indexes like Alta Vista turn out too many entries.

Instructional Technology Connections For Students and practitioners of Instructional Technology and Cognitive Science. Internet for Educators. This page contains pubblicity for a Film + booklet, quote: "Internet for Educators(tm) is part of White Rain Films' on-going Internet education series, exploring the fascinating resources of the Internet". Also has lots of curriculum resources (pointers to WWW sites).

A free tutorial generation program by David A. Wheeler is available named mklesson. This program takes as input a text file and generates a set of HTML files suitable for including in the World Wide Web (WWW). The source and user guide for mklesson are available.
WEST WEST (Web Educational Support Tools) is a project to create tools to support the delivery of course material over the Internet using the World Wide Web. The system provides extensive support for course providers, tutors and students including:
- Built-in messaging
- Electronic submission and processing of student exercises
- Course material easily tailored to individual students
- Support for video conferencing

SyllabusWeb from the publishers of Syllabus magazine, covers technologies of interest to educators in high schools, colleges, and universities. It contains news, case studies, product reviews and announcements, and feature articles on technology written by educators and experts in educational technology. Among the technology areas covered are multimedia, graphics and visualization, quantitative tools, the Internet, telecommunications and networking, classroom products and technology infrastructure, personal computer and workstation technologies, and video and presentation technologies.
