Daimler-Benz Plans to
Hire 3000 New Trainees

Stuttgart, May 14, 1995.
Daimler-Benz plans to hire about 3000 new trainees this year. This is 100 more new hirings than in the previous year. Between all of the group's corporate units - Mercedes-Benz, Daimler-Benz Aerospace, AEG Daimler-Benz Industrie and Daimler-Benz InterServices - it currently employs more than 12,000 trainees, of whom more than 600 are in the new federal states. In previous years, Daimler-Benz maintained a constant trainee level of about 5 percent.

With more than 140 sites throughout Germany, Daimler-Benz offers about 60 technical and 10 business trainee career paths. Typical trainee positions are as an auto mechanic at Mercedes-Benz, an aeromechanic at Daimler-Benz Aerospace, a plant fitter at AEG Daimler-Benz Industrie, and as an insurance or data processing specialist at Daimler-Benz InterServices.

Daimler-Benz also stated that qualified specialist candidates should be recruited from within the ranks, since companies with well-educated employees are more competitive. Professional training remains an important element of company's long-term personnel strategy, and is a necessary investment in the future.
