Electric seat adjustment
The optionally available electric seat adjustment allows seat height, squab and backrest angle, fore-and-aft position and head restraint angle to be adjusted conveniently.
In addition to electric seat adjustment, a memory function is optionally available in the E-class coupés and cabriolets for the driver's and front passenger's seat, in each case allowing two different people to store the seat position that suits them best.

ESP
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) selectively applies precisely controlled brake pressure to individual wheels at the front and/ or rear axle as well as electronically reducing engine torque, if necessary. By expanding the anti-slip sensors to include information about steering angle and rotation of the vehicle about the vertical axis (yaw), deviations from the desired optimum course can be detected and corrected. ESP not only improves directional control, but also works to stabilize the vehicle automatically in all driving situations, especially when cornering and during sudden evasive manoeuvers.

ETS
The Electronic Traction System (ETS) intervenes if one of the drive wheels begins to spin. In contrast to the automatic locking differential, ETS is active over a wider speed range. Brake pressure is applied specifically to the spinning wheel, so improving traction. The system intervenes at speeds up to 40 km/h and during acceleration remains activated up to 80 km/h. During extremely long braking operations the ETS shuts off automatically to prevent overheating of the brakes.

Extended central locking system
An electric tilting/sliding roof and electric windows can be a real bonus in terms of comfort and convenience. The extended central locking system makes these features more practical still and relieves you of the work of closing each window, or the tilting/sliding roof, individually.
If you lock the car in the normal manner and hold the mey a moment longer in the locking position, all side windows and the tilting/sliding roof are automatically closed.

Hydraulic valve clearance compensation
A hydraulic system in the bucket tappets, filled with engine oil, automatically ensures correct valve clearance compensation under all operating conditions, thus reducing engine noise and wear. A further advantage is that valve clearance is optimally set under all conditions.
