This Australian National University server contains over 1.2 gigabytes of data which are not available elsewhere. It offers a variety of image collections and small presentations, all of which deal in some way with Art History. The current setup will be improved when time, money and assistance permit. Your opinions and suggestions on the content, arrangement and display of materials on this server are earnestly sought: please email me !
This server offers access to around 10,200 images, to a full-length book, and to a mechanism for searching text via a forms interface, as well as a way of "dialing up" the images you want via forms - a kind of "database" interface. The collection consists of some 2,800 images of prints, largely from the 15th century to the end of the 19th century. There are over 8,500 images of architecture & architectural sculpture from around the Mediterranean, from all periods up to the 19th century, and a small selection of Islamic monuments. Work is in progress on ways of storing, displaying and dispatching to users much higher-quality images than the 740x540 (approx) pixel images currently on offer.

CLASSICAL TURKEY: a brief tour of a few of sites
A FULL-LENGTH BOOK on The Greek & Roman Cities of Western Turkey - my work, published here on the Internet INSTEAD of on paper;
TEXTSEARCHER: prototype with works by Shakespeare, Pascal, Homer and Tacitus online;
ISLAMIC ARCHITECTURE: - a brief survey
CLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE: by type then site, with thumbnail images, or by country then site, with thumbnail images. This architecture section contains many errors (for example, many of the inline GIFs are missing), and is in course of rearrangement;
CLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE: by Database Access
CLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE: SUPPLEMENT: Click here for access to an additional 3,281 images of classical, mediaeval and renaissance architecture and sculpture - but be warned, this setup (taken from laserdisk) still needs a lot of work.
LENI RIEFENSTAHL: just a few images from Leni Riefenstahl's Triumph of the Will (1934) and Olympiad 1936. My understanding is that these are old enough to be out of copyright but, if not, will somebody email me quickly and I'll take them off?

Clicking on my name gives a short biography, and you may wish to read about the technologies employed for capturing, processing and storing the images and the various datafiles, and about the associated drawbacks.
