Leather-covered sports steering wheel The optional leather-covered sports steering wheel is around 10 mm smaller in diameter than the steering wheels you are accustomed to from Mercedes. Of course there is still sufficient room to accommodate the large standard equipment driver's airbag. To make sure you have a firm grip on things, the steering wheel rim, like the shift lever, is covered in hand-sewn black nappa leather. Sports seats If you drive a sporty car, you will also want seats to match. We have developed the sports seats in our special equipment range to cater for the needs of a sporty style of driving. Their enhanced lateral stability ensures that even with a dynamic driving style, the driver and front passenger have firm and reliable lateral support, yet still have ample room to move in. The sports seats are fitted with covers in a sporty checked pattern. Should you prefer something a little more elegant, they are also available optionally in soft leather. Sports suspension To give a car a sports character it takes more than simply lowering the bodywork. Indeed, that often causes changes in its handling which feel unpleasant rather than sporty. If you wish for a Mercedes with sports suspension, we lower it by some 20 mm, give the steering a more direct ratio and rematch the entire system. A lower centre of gravity improves road holding, particularly in critical situations. Wheels For a T-series model fitted with the optionally available sports suspension, you can choose between steel wheels and 8-hole light alloy wheels together with wide 205/60R15 tyres. These ensure optimum tyre-to-road adhesion, good cornering stability and precise directional control for dynamic driving. AMG The sports components mentioned above are also available optionally as a full "Sportline" package.
