Automation division

The automation division is made of two divisions, systems and automation technology and also features a sorting and identification systems business.

In the industrial automation field, AEG Daimler-Benz Industrie focuses on the production and process side of the business. It occupies the number 3 slot in Europe with a broad base of know-how in the process technology sector for environment, gas and water, in infrastructure technology for buildings and airports as well as in the automation of automobile production.

In the open-loop and feedback control sector AEG Schneider Automation (a 50:50 Joint Venture with the Schneider Group in France) occupies the second place on the world market for programmable controllers. The joint venture company Cegelec AEG Drive Systems SAS occupies the third place on the world market for drive systems. In the postal services automation sector, AEG Daimler-Benz Industrie leads the world with a market share of more than 50 percent.
