Your monitor is an important part of your Amiga computer system allowing more sharp, stable pictures. Below you will find information on using a monitor with your Amiga.

Types of monitors

There are three basic kinds of monitors one can use with your amiga Analog RGB, VGA/SVGA, and Multiscan monitors.

Analog RGB monitors are the default monitor setting for all amigas. All GURU Errors and early system startup REQUIRE an RGB monitor or a TV.

VGA/SVGA monitors which are common among PC clones have higher refresh rates and generally a more solid stable picture free of flicker. Most amigas will require a special adapter to use one of these monitors.

MULTISCAN monitors are special monitors that cover a very broad range of refresh rates. these are generally more expensive then the other two options but are generally better monitors.

 

Monitor Drivers

All Monitor drivers can be found in either DEVS:monitors or Storage:monitors on your main system drive. Each driver has specific scan rates and resolutions which are listed below:
