BeOS Support: Software Updates

The current release of the BeOS for BeBox and for Power Macintosh is the BeOS Preview Release. The BeOS Preview Release is available on a single CD covering both platforms. The many ways you can obtain the BeOS are outlined elsewhere, on the BeOS Now! page.

From time to time Be makes available updates to released software and makes them available for downloading. This page lists the software updates available for the current releases of our software. Each update listed below provides complete installation instructions and links to the update file(s).

BeOS Preview Release Update 1

The current version of the BeOS for all supported platforms is the Preview Release. To enhance the usability and correct minor bugs in that release, Be has created an Update to the Preview Release:

• Preview Release Update 1, added on July 25, 1997.

Updates to Obsolete and Unsupported Software

Although we no longer provide full support for previous releases of the BeOS, as a convenience for our customers, here are updates to obsolete versions of the BeOS:

• Advanced Access Update, added on May 30, 1997

• Software MIDI Kit, added on December 4, 1996.
• Power Mac DR8.3 Update, added on March 13, 1997.

• DR 8.0 or 8.1 to DR 8.2 Update.
• mail_daemon update, added on November 11, 1996.
• Software MIDI Kit, added on December 4, 1996.
• NetPositive 0.80 update, added on January 23, 1997.
