K		Kilo-. Informally, 1,000. Technically, 210, or 1024, so 64K is actually 65,536. K is often used for kilobyte.
k		Kilo-; the prefix in the metric system for 1,000.
KB		Kilobyte; 1024 bytes. Equivalent to half a sheet of paper's worth of typing, double spaced.
Kb		Kilobit; 1024 bits.
Kermit		A communication protocol, used mainly for file transfers by modem.
kernel		The essential part of an operating system responsible for resource allocation, low-level hardware interfaces, security etc.
keyboard		The part of a computer system you type on.
keyboard buffer		A buffer that holds keystrokes signals if for some reason you press the keys faster than the computer can accept the keystrokes, for example, if you type a command while the computer is still processing the last command you typed, the buffer will hold the command until the computer is ready for it.
keyboard speed		Refers to a keyboard's repeat rate and repeat delay.
kHz		Kilohertz. 1,000 cycles per second (not 1,024).
kludge		(kloodge) Hardware or software that works, but is inelegant. Something thrown together quickly to meet a specific need.
