FineArt Forum Online is now available from two international sites. You may wish to reconnect now in order to reduce network overheads. You can choose between our service in the USA or in Australia.
FineArt Forum is a electronic news service that covers art and technology. It is available in three formats: a monthly email digest; an online Gopher database and; a fully interactive colour version on the World Wide Web (WWW or "Web"). Since June 1994 it has been edited and produced at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia.

FineArt Forum is the news service of the Art, Science and Technology Network (ASTN) - a "virtual" organization whose board members "meet" in the Cyberspace of the InterNet. The service is however independent and serves the interests of all artists and other creative people who are interested or involved in the application of technology of many kinds. FineArt Forum is one of the oldest network services for the arts. It was founded seven years ago and the first email newsletter was delivered in April 1987 under the editorship of Ray Lauzzana. It's point of origin has moved several times during the past years and, since November 1992, it has been edited by Paul Brown first at Mississippi State University and now at Griffith University.
This is our World Wide Web service which launched in January 1994. Using proprietary "Web Browser" clients like NCSA's Mosaic it is now possible to retrieve and interact with formatted, full colour documents. This is an amazing new potential for electronic publishing which will turn the InterNet into a vast, international, easy-to-access library and promises to revolutionize the way we work and play.
So FineArt Forum, a pioneer of electronic publishing, continues to push forward the boundaries of Cyberspace. Our mission is to provide useful information on art and technology to anyone who wants it and free of charge. All our online services are free of payment (though note that if you access them by a commercial network then that network may levy fees).
Consequently we are always looking for volunteers! No matter where on Earth you live - if you can access the InterNet then you can contribute to FineArt Forum and its affiliated services. Help us design the future.
