The Michael C. Carlos Museum is located within Emory University and serves its community as well the general public. Its permanent collection of over 15,000 objects spans nearly 9,000 years from the prehistoric cultures of seventh millennium B.C. to the twentieth century. It occupies a 45,000 square foot building designed by internationally-renowned architect Michael Graves. The museum also offers special exhibitions, lectures, films, and workshops.

The Director of the Museum, Dr. Maxwell Anderson, has recorded a video to welcome you to the "virtual museum tour".

Enjoy your tour of the Michael C. Carlos Museum! You may explore each floor and click on rooms or galleries that interest you. Unlike exploring a museum in person, you will find that you are able to go behind the scenes to discover the people who work h ard to catalog and care for objects, design the exhibitions and programs, and do a vast variety of other tasks in support of the museum's operation.
