National Laboratory (LLNL), performs work in designing, testing, and evaluating systems
in areas of Electromagnetics, Pulsed Power, Optics, and Material Science. DSED performs
DOE and Commercial research and design that is in the national interest.
Welcome from Karl Freytag, Division Leader, DSED
DSED provides electrical engineering solutions for specific Laboratory
programs and our industrial and government partners to promote
national security, environmental quality, and economic competitiveness.

The primary strength of the Division is it's people who design, engineer, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems (embedded or stand-alone) and derive in-situ operational parameters. The beneficiaries of these efforts have been the defense community and private industry. The Division is also involved with other organizations to further their efforts in the national interest.
