What is GRN?Global Recycling Network (GRN) is an information service set up on the Internet to help businesses around the world in exchanging trade leads of recyclable goods. From raw materials and industrial byproducts to used or rebuilt equipment and machinery, a wide variety of new leads are added every day directly by subscribers from businesses worldwide to GRNs database. Buy and sell offers can be posted and retrieved in real time by all the businesses connected to GRN making the service highly effective both on a national scale and internationally where GRN becomes a direct link between industrialized nations and developing countries.
Every day recyclers try to find new sources of raw materials or new outlets for their production while manufacturers try to find buyers for their excess inventory or old equipment and machinery. At the same time, especially in developing countries, other businesses struggle to find raw materials, manufactured goods or used equipment at affordable prices. To assist these businesses in finding the right trading partner, GRN created an Internet-linked database that allows them to make contact with a new, constantly expanding market of buyers and sellers both in their own country and throughout the world.
The basic idea of GRN is to offer an Interactive Service. As you sign up you Enter Your Own Lead so that others can see it and get in touch with you. Database
StructureGRNs databases are accessed through a Telnet connection. They are divided into three sections.
The first contains the buy and sell trade leads searchable with key-words by type of lead, country of origin and type of goods. Here is where you can enter your leads directly on-line.
The second contains a Recycling Newsletter, updated regularly, that focuses on worldwide business news in the field of recycling: market insight, company news, resource prices, new regulatory issues or government programs in specific countries and technical updates.
The third contains supplementary directory information geared to assist those businesses that have successfully contacted a trading partner through a GRN lead. The directory entries, organized by country, include logistic operators (shipping agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers etc.), and legal operators (international trade specialists). The directories can be searched with key-words by country, city and type of service offered.
The system is very user-friendly and you do not need to learn any complicated search language: everything is done by choosing numbers from short menus or by typing in key-words at the automatic prompts. It has been designed for the business user who has no time to spare.
We are at present working on a new interface that will allow users to access the GRN databases directly from these Web pages.

SubscriptionsAs a subscriber you receive a Login and Password that give you full access to GRNs databases directly from your desktop. This allows you to post directly on-line as many leads as you like, browse those that are in the database, read GRNs current Recycling Newsletter or search the past issues, and access GRNs worldwide directories of Logistic and Legal operators who can help you complete your transactions. You can also take advantage of the GRN ECHO ))) Service for the automatic delivery of leads to your e-mail address.
For an initial period, the GRN Service is offered Free of Charge to all business users of the Internet. Subscribing is easy. Simply fill out the on-line form and you will receive your validated password and Users Instructions.
