Help On NCSA Mosaic Keyword Search
Help On NCSA Mosaic Keyword Search
NCSA Mosaic allows keyword
searches of searchable documents or information sources (e.g., WAIS
servers, searchable Gopher
nodes, and specialized query servers). The keyword search field can
only be used when the Document View window is being
used to view a searchable document; else, the field will be
insensitive and the "Search Keyword" label will be greyed out.
Some people like to have keyboard input focus transferred to the
keyword search field automatically upon encountering a searchable
document or server. If you're one of those people, consider setting
the warpPointerForIndex X
resource to 'true'.
If The Keyword Search Field Doesn't Work For You...
It appears as though there is a serious problem with certain versions
of Motif that make the keyword search text field impossible to type
into. If this happens to you, see here for more information.
Searching Within a Document
If you want to search for a keyword or term inside a document
you have already retrieved, then you want to use the document search
dialog box accessible from the File menu; more
information is here.
