Indy Presenter

By Art Liddle

Nice things really do come in small packages, or in this case, thin packages. SGI's Indy Presenter is a flatpanel display that provides beautiful 15-bit color at a resolution of 1024X768 on a 12.1" screen measures diagonally (about standard for 14" monitors). However, the panel with integral swivel base is less than 1" thick. The active matrix-LCD, specially manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, offers superb contrast and brightness for striking images. I wish my television looked as good.

As the name implies, the Indy Presenter is designed for presentations. When combined with an Indy workstation--a nifty shoulder bag handles both--you have most of the tools you need for a first rate show on the road. All that's missing is a power plug.

For large groups you can use the Indy Presenter with a standard overhead projector by simply removing the back panel (light source). For best results, SGI offers an overhead projector made by Dukane Corporation that is optimized for the Presenter. It provides 6,000 lumes of balanced white output light and has a projected image size that varies from a minimum of 4' to a maximum of 35' measured diagonally.

The Indy Presenter will be shipping by the time you read this.

If you are looking for the ultimate road machine, the SGI Indy, Indy Presenter, and Dukane OHP can't be beat.
