Demon Internet, the UK's largest Internet service provider, has appointed Foresight PR to handle media relations for the company.
Foresight's brief will concentrate on building general awareness of Demon, and more specifically its "Tenner a Month" Internet service, by which customers are linked to the Internet's global network.
Demon Internet has been running since June 1992, and was the UK's first dial-up Internet service provider. At £10 per month, the company offers the most competitive price of all UK providers with a highly effective service, including a customer help line for technical support.
Current figures show that Demon has over 36,000 customers. And more are joining, at a rate of approximately 4,000 per month. Demon is justifiably bullish about sustaining this growth pattern as the public and the business sector becomes evermore aware of the expanding opportunities the Internet offers: educational, recreational and commercial.
Foresight's appointment coincides with a new streamlined marketing drive at Demon, which sees the appointment of marketing and sales personnel. This will allow Managing Director Cliff Stanford to oversee all areas of the business' development.
Stanford comments, "We are very pleased to have Foresight PR on board. The Internet is a huge growth area, and similarly Demon is expanding rapidly in terms of existing business areas and new business developments. Creating a structured marketing and sales division, and appointing PR is part of our long-term plan for sustained growth and success".
Foresight is an entertainment/leisure and interactive services specialist, whose client rosta includes PolyGram Video Limited; Time Products; Walt Disney's film distribution arm, Buena Vista International; United International Pictures; Video Collection International; and Virgin Interactive, among others.
