Long History Files

Enter a ticker symbol:

Historical data files cost $1.95 each.
The symbol "MSFT" can be tried with a blank username and password, and is free.
The returned file will be in ASCII, comma-delimited format. For most stocks, we have daily data back to 1988. Most mutual funds go back to 1992. Our commodity contracts and foreign data files only have data back to approximately April, 1992.

Any individual file may not have that much data, especially if it has not been trading for that long. We will show you the earliest date in the file before you confirm your purchase.

End-of-Day Update Files

End-of-Day update files are available for Basic subscribers only, for the U.S. exchanges. Canada subscribers and Overseas subscribers may download updates files from those exchanges. Option subscribers may download files from OPRA and PHLX.
Sample files are also available for non-subscribers at ftp://ftp.quote.com/pub/updates/samples/.
The files are organized as one file per exchange. Data in the files is stored as comma-delimited ASCII in the format:
Symbol,Date,Open,High,Low,Last,Volume,Open Interest
Mutual fund data is organized in the format:
Symbol, NAV
Options data is organized in the format:
Symbol,Date,Open,High,Low,Last,Volume,Open Interest,Ask,Bid
Here are the times that these files are usually ready (Eastern time zone):

Date (as MM/DD)
If the date is left blank, today's date will be used.
There is a limit of 25 update files per day per person.
