3. What are steps I would go through before I am offered a position at Microsoft?

The first step of course, is for you to apply. Once you send us your resume we will review it for all possible positions. If your skills match a position, you will be contacted for more information about your interests, talents, and experience. If Microsoft extends an offer to you, we will help you to understand all of the aspects of the offer as well as what your job will be once you start. Finally, we will work closely with you and your family to make sure that your transition to Microsoft goes smoothly.

5. What steps are taken to ensure confidentiality?

We recognize the importance of confidentiality during the interviewing process. We're careful to maintain your personal information and we'll be happy to accommodate any special requests that you may have.

6. Am I being recruited for a specific position or product group? Or, will I have input into my job description?

Generally, we target you for a few specific positions that would best suit your background and interests. And, for the most part, the framework has already been established regarding job description. However, it'll be up to you and your manager to structure the style of the job with the strengths you've brought to Microsoft.

7. How is Microsoft's compensation package structured?

Our compensation package is usually a combination of base salary with the opportunity for bonuses during the year, Microsoft stock and a rich benefits package.

8. What does the Seattle-area have to offer me?

9. How does Microsoft alleviate the stress involved with relocating my family and/or partner should I decide to relocate to Seattle?
