What We Are

The Stelling Group, a Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce member, is a team of independent consultants, programmers, marketing strategists, artists and writers who pool their resources for projects related to the World Wide Web and the Internet. Primarily we are an Internet/World Wide Web presence designer and provider through our own Columbus.Net.

Our Team

Richard Stelling, managing partner and director of The Columbus Home PageŽ, has been a government executive for most of the past twenty five years including assistant to the Illinois Secretary of Transportation. Most recently he has been a consultant in technical writing and editing and on the Internet.
For Columbus folks, Mr. Stelling was a reporter for WBNS-TV, who covered Mayor Jack Sensenbrenner and wrote copy for Chet Long, and was later assistant news secretary to Governor John J. Gilligan. He was editor of the Ohio State Lantern in the middle of the unforgettable Sixties.

Doug Stevenson is the former system administrator for the Byrd Polar Research Center at the Ohio State University where he maintained its WWW presence and he is the technical coordinator of The Columbus Home PageŽ. Currently he is employed by CompuServe. His expertise in PERL programming has already led to contributions to the Web which include his World Wide Web chat site, HomePage Publisher--a forms based site construction system and a program for reporting back statistics on site access. Mr. Stevenson is available for consultation on more interactive needs on the Web.

Dr. John Ledingham is a professor in marketing at Capital University where he advises graduate and undergraduate students. His private clients in marketing strategy include Ameritech, the Bank of New Zealand and Ashland Oil. Dr. Ledingham is available for consulting on how the Web fits into your total marketing strategy.

Bob Berry is a young Corel Draw professional whose command of graphic arts can fill almost any request for special logos or images with a creative flair.

Daniel Frechette handles client relations for the Stelling Group and The Columbus Home PageŽ. He will be glad to visit with you by phone, e-mail or in person and discuss what kind of presence is appropriate for you or your firm.

Erik Stelling is assistant director of the Columbus Home PageŽ. He is an Ohio State student with training in accounting and business procedures.

Our Host and Our Rates

Columbus.Net, The Columbus Home PageŽ and The Stelling Group are hosted on our own Pentium-based server running Solaris and connected to the Internet with a high-speed T1 connection. Rates for hosting and maintaining your Web presence on our World Wide Web server begin at $75 a month with a $250 set up fee. This includes a single page roughly the size of a business letter. It's content may include a single graphic, automatic mail-back to your e-mail address and links to other World Wide Web sites.

More likely, custom work would be performed at $60 to $100 per hour. Basic HTML and art work would be about $60, while design work, strategic consulting and PERL/common gateway interface programming would be closer to $100.

If you need only personal Internet/World Wide Web access and a presence which you can maintain, we can set you up with a personal Internet account whcih includes unlimited use and uncensored access to more than 14,000 Usenet newsgroups and MCI News for $25 per month..

We do not maintain Web presence on personal accounts.

The Stelling Group can also maintain your Web presence at your own host site, at another site you may already be using or on a leased server at any access provider. The nature of the Web allows us to maintain your site wherever in the World it is located.
