The team of 25 judges will be led by Peter Brock with two lead assistant judges, Dave Hollis and Larry Shinoda.
Peter Brock, Chief Judge
Chief Judge Peter Brock, a perennial judge at the Pebble
Beach Concours d'Elegance, is an independent designer, consultant and instructor
at the Art Center School in Los Angeles. He designed the first American
car to win the FIA world championship for GT cars, the 1965 Cobra "Daytona
Coupe" and was one of the first employees at Shelby American with
Carroll Shelby. Over the years, Mr. Brock has designed and built prototypes
with Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, and Triumph. His BRE Enterprises
won the SCAA National C Production Championship at Road Atlanta for Datsun.
He is also president of Evening Star Technologies, a company dedicated
to developing a composite light-weight modular automobile engine.
Dave Holls, Lead Assistant Judge
Dave Holls is an automobile designer who recently retired
as director of design from General Motors Corporation. His award-winning
designs include the 1991 Buick Park Avenue and the 1992 Cadillac Seville
STS. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in industrial
design. He began his career in the Cadillac Design studio in 1952. He is
a member of the Classic Car Club of America and owns a number of classic
cars including the 1932 Auburn, the 1932 Cadillac and 1940 Packard Darin.
He was the founding father of the Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance.
Larry Shinoda, Lead Assistant Judge
Larry Shinoda is director of Shinoda Design. Larry worked
at GM in the 1960's with Bill Mitchell and was responsible for the design
of the very desirable 1963 Corvette. Larry has been associated with a wide
variety of exciting designs, such as the Boss 302 Mustang, the Explorer
Motor Home and the Rick Mears Special Corvette. He was Chief Judge at the
Virginia Beach Concours and has judged cars at the Meadowbrook Concours
d' Elegance and the annual Corvette meet at Cypress Gardens.
