Meester Fly 3rd Eye!

the grapewire welcomes you!

January/February 1998

Word of the Week!We are still a bit confused at the beginning of the New Year.
That's why January and February keep changing around in our heads.
As above... so Below... But Hey! things always change around for the better.

What will happen at the Brits Awards on Monday night!??
That was the question of yester, we know now!!!
Björk won the award for the Best International Female Artist and declared that she was a grapefruit!

Last Saturday night, Björk was received the Danish Grammy for "Best foreign female singer".
MeesterFly was buzzing somewhere totally else (or at least he hasn't called in yet).

The slight buzz Meester Fly heard on the grapewire about something limited would be considered for the beginning of February to coincide with the Brits Award was nothing but a buzz.  Although now the 12" vinyls of Bacherolette and Jóga are  available in limited quantity. Especially the 12" with the RZA mix. They will be  available through Retail Therapy

  • .Friday the 13th: The sudden cancellation of TFI Friday!

Some have been  wondering when and where the next Björk concerts will be. Well here are the first or second proper news on the latest concert developments. Some USA tour dates in April have just been added. Björk will be co-headlining with Radiohead in the North Americas.

We have had the first report from none other than Meester Fly. Meester Fly buzzes into Iceland and has some buzzin' time.

  • The next single from Homogenic will be Alarm Call and will be out in April.

Now is the time also the time for award ceremonies of all kinds. Sort of the harvest of last year. Pat on the Back etcetera. And who else than Björk should be nominated!

The readers of the NME have also nominated Björk in the category of Best Solo Artist and the Brat Awards ceremony will be on January 27th at London's Brixton Academy.

Melody Maker readers have showed their appreciation by voting Björk "Woman of the year 1997". She was quoted in Melody Maker: "I am extremely honoured to be given this title by the readers of the Melody Maker, and I would like to thank all of my fans and the press for their support in 1997." Which will be remembered in history along with these awards ceremonies as events from the late 20th century.
