PC/TCP Developer's Toolkit

for OS/2

Maximize your investment in TCP/IP networking by creating custom applications with the PC/TCP Developer's Toolkit for OS/2. Whether you are a third party developer, or designing applications for internal use, the Developer's Toolkit for OS/2 provides the programming libraries and tools you need to deliver network solutions quickly and efficiently.

FEATURES

BENEFITS

Robust implementation of industry-standard APIs (including 32-bit BSD Socket API) for ease of portability

The Developer's Toolkit makes it easy to create applications that are highly portable across different operating system platforms and TCP/IP implementations. In addition to 32-bit and 16-bit 4.3 BSD Socket APIs, supported industry-standard APIs include RPC v4.0.

New 32-bit and 16-bit Socket DLLs greatly simplify the development of socket-based applications by running directly over the PC/TCP kernel, eliminating dependencies on low-level DLLs. They are also well suited for porting DOS and Windows-based socket applications to OS/2.

The Developer's Toolkit also includes a Socket DLL that supports transparent mapping of socket handles to file descriptors. This simplifies the porting of UNIX socket applications to OS/2.

High-level application APIs make it easy to call Telnet and FTP functions within your custom application

Easily incorporate file transfer and terminal emulation functionality into your custom application with application-specific APIs.

Easy-to-use sample programs save development time

Simplify the development of your custom application by starting with working sample programs. A comprehensive set of sample programs help get you started, significantly reducing your learning curve.
