Brakes

All S-class models are fitted as standard with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) asbestos-free brake linings internally ventilated front brake discs brake pad wear indicator and foot-operated parking brake with automatic wear compensation.

All models are fitted with four-piston fixed caliper disc brakes at the front and two-piston fixed-caliper disc brakes at the rear. Mercedes S 420, S 500 and S 600 with internally ventilated front and rear brake discs.
