The Mudkats is the kind of band whose music you can't get out of your head after seeing them live or listening to a tape. Fun songs performed with instrumental proficiency and a genuine sense of enjoyment have been the hallmark of this band for years.

We play upbeat heavy rock with vocal harmony. Most musicians are reluctant to describe their music precisely, and we're no exception; but one might ask "What if The Dickies covered Rush?"

We Mudkats were founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1993. The songwriting and arranging team of recently Steve Schneider (who left the band recently) and Friedmann has been collaborating since 1984, and since 1986 have shared the bill with notables such as Too Much Joy, Book of Love, The Steve Pryor Group, David Lindley and El Rayo-X, among others.
