Developer Programs

Apple's Developer Programs provide a broad mix of industry-leading technical information and services, targeted to meet the needs of our growing community of developers. We offer a variety of programs designed to provide you the support you need to develop for Apple's platforms and technologies. Many of the program features are also available separately through APDA, Apple's sales channel for Apple and third-party development tools and technical resources.

When you join one or more of the Apple Developer Programs, you will receive a set of core services - in addition to the features and services specific to the program(s) you join. Those core services are:

Core Services

By joining any of the Apple Developer Programs, you will have access to technical and marketing information, be informed of Apple events, and have a communication channel with Apple, fellow developers, and customers. Apple is making its innovative technologies work for you by delivering essential development resources on CD-ROM, in printed form, and through on-line services.

All Apple Developer Programs provide the following set of core services (in addition to those services that are specific to each program):


Macintosh Associates Program

Self-support program for developers utilizing Macintosh technologies, designed to provide developers with ongoing technical information and services.

Who Should Apply: All developers focusing on Macintosh technologies, who do not desire direct technical support, and Macintosh technology seeding from Apple.

Annual Fee: US $350

Features: Includes all the Apple Developer Program core services plus:


Macintosh Partners Program

Expert development support program customized for developers focused on Macintosh technologies including PowerPC, QuickTime, QuickDraw GX, PowerTalk, System 7.5 APIs, and Apple Development Tools. Macintosh Partners receive programming-level development support via electronic mail, access to the PowerPC Porting Lab and Macintosh technology seeding directly from Apple.

Who Should Apply: All developers focusing on Macintosh technologies who desire direct technical support from Apple.

Annual Fee: US $1,500

Features: In addition to the Apple Developer Program core services and the Macintosh Associates Program features, you'll also receive:


Newton Associates Program

Self-support program for developers utilizing Newton technologies, designed to provide developers with ongoing technical information and services.

Who Should Apply: All developers focusing on Newton technologies who do not desire direct technical support from Apple.

Annual Fee: US $400

Features: Includes all the Apple Developer Program core services plus:


Newton Partners Program

Expert development support program customized for developers focused on Newton technologies. Newton Partners receive programming-level development support via electronic mail.

Who Should Apply: All developers focusing on Newton technologies who desire technical support from Apple.

Annual Fee: US $2,500

Features: In addition to the features of the Newton Associates Program, you'll also receive:


Apple Multimedia Program

The Apple Multimedia Program (AMP) is designed to meet the needs of developers interested in the emerging multimedia market.

Who Should Apply: All developers focusing on the multimedia market.

Annual Fee: US $300
