The db trader Tables and Matrices design is at the core of the user configurability of the system. db trader incorporates approximately 200 Tables & Matrices which "drive" the system. Tables store information (i.e., codes, texts, values, calculations, fees, rates, dates) to control various processing steps, greatly reducing manual input and data redundancy. The major codes (bookkeeping, back office, transaction type, trade currency, payment currency) reflect the transaction oriented system design. All db trader entry screens provide access to field-relevant tables which both validate and aid entry.
Much of the Accounting and Bookkeeping is maintained by the tables and matrices, i.e., selection of accrual (FIFO, LIFO) or interest calculation methods, and generation of accounting entries to the general ledger. The Fee Module groups the tables which determine and calculate brokerage / stock exchange fees, commissions, and taxes. The Installation Parameters are part of the initial system implementation process and reflect local processing requirements.
