What is Taoist Tai Chi

Please read the disclaimer

Okay, off the top of my head...

Tai chi was originally practiced by Taoist monks about nine or so centuries ago. The monks would teach the tai chi to lay persons, for self defense and health. The greatest part of the knowledge, the internal alchemy, as it is called, was not passed on. When the taoist monks became persecuted under an oppressive regime, the highest knowledge of tai chi was lost. Tai chi was still practiced by the non-clergy, and in the absense of taoist teachers, was passed on by the secular practictioners. Today there are several forms of tai chi. Master Moy Lin-shin developed the Taoist Tai Chi, to return to the health promoting form taught by the original Taoist monks. Master Moy has dedicated his life to helping others to benefit from this and other Taoist arts.

Any one who wishes to teach Taoist Tai Chi, must do so under the auspices of the Taoist Tai Chi Society, which ensures that instruction is done only on a volunteer basis.
