Taoist Tai Chi Society of Canada
What is this organization?
Please read the disclaimer
The Taoist Tai Chi Society of Canada is a non-profit organization, and
is a registered charitable organization.
Where did it come from?
The founder of the Taoist Tai Chi Society, Master Moy Lin-Shin, is a
Taoist monk. He experienced serious health problems as a youth.
Through diligent practice of Taoist arts, he recovered his health, and
vowed to make these arts widely available. I would like to include
much more information about Master Moy, but I would prefer to get
permission to reprint a brief bio from society literature.
What does it do?
The society has four main goals:
-
Make Taoist Tai Chi available to
everyone. This means that we want to be able to provide everyone
with the opportunity to experience the benefits of Taoist Tai Chi,
regardless of their social or economic status, location, or
ability.
-
Promote the health improving benefits of Taoist Tai Chi. This form
of Tai Chi has many health-improving and maintaining benefits. We
try to make people aware of these qualities.
-
Encourage cultural exchange. The society provides opportunities to
experience Chinese culture, which increases understanding and
respect among people.
-
To help others. Taoist values such as selflessness and service to
others are very important to the society. The society assists other
charities when possible, and provides translation and income tax
services for imigrants. All instructors of Taoist Tai Chi are
volunteers.
