The institute for system design technology (SET) deals with the design of complex embedded systems. Research focuses on design methods which automate the design process, shorten the design time and guarantee (to a certain extent) design quality properties such as correctness, testability, reliability, security, robustness and maintainability.
The long term goal is the integration of several design disciplines into a system design methodology. At present we concentrate on hardware and software design. Examples pursued at the institute include responsive systems, image processing, industrial control and microsystems (micro-mechanical / -electronic).
SET's work is organised around numerous projects and cooperations with academia and industry.
