Archival applications

UH oh, I think this file is compressed... Need an archivar/DeArchiver?

bin ARC
Vers:
.23
Auth: Raymond S. Brand

ARC is an *old* (older than Zoo) archiver which was probably popular on Amigas and PCs around 1985-86. Handles files with the .Arc extension. Compatible with Vers. 5 of ARC.

BinHEX
Vers:
3.74
Auth: Nik Soggia

BHD, BHE, these two programs are able to decode and encode the #?.HQX files (TEXT/BNHQ) and the MIME "application/mac-binhex40" Content-Type.

Dms
Vers: 1.11.run
Auth: N/A

V1.11 of the popoular Disk Archiver

DMS II
Vers:
1.0
Auth: N/A

GUI interface to DMS, needs OS3.0+

Extractor
Vers:
1.02
Auth:
ruler@balu.sch.bme.hu

Extractor V1.02 is a small utility which helps you to extract your archive files. With this stuff you can extract LHA,ZIP,ARJ files in a very simple way. The registered version can also handle LZX files.

GNU tar
Vers:
1.11.8
Auth:
François Pinard and others, port by Enrico Forestieri

GNU `tar' saves many files together into a single tape or disk archive, and can restore individual files from the archive. It includes multivolume support, automatic archive compression/decompression and special features that allow `tar' to be used for incremental and full backups.

There are several ports of GNU tar for the amiga but all have some limitations. Those not using ixemul.library don't allow multivolume archives and automatic compression/decompression, whereas those compiled with gcc have problems with the dev-handlers and so cannot be used to exchange data with unix machines.

bin LhA_e | lha_r
Vers:
E - 138 | R - 150
Auth: N/A

LhA_e | lha_r are the evaluation and the latest version for registered users. This is a MUST HAVE since LHA is the defeacto standard for compression on the Amiga.

bin lharc
Vers:
1.30
Auth: N/A

Archiver for .lzh files

bin LZX
Vers:
1.21
Auth:
Jonathan Forbes

This is the evaluation version of LZX 1.21. For .lzx files.

bin Unrar
Vers:
2.02
Auth:
Andrea Vallinotto

This version extracts correctly every RAR format known so far, including all new formats introduced with RAR 2.00 .
This software is Freeware, but copyrighted by Eugeny Roshal for the original code, and by me (Andrea Vallinotto) for the Amiga port.

bin UnSIT
Vers:
1.52
Auth:N/A

Un-archiver StuffIt .SIT files (Mac)

binUnZip
Vers:
5.12
Auth:
Info-Zip delelopment group
Amiga Port by: John Bush, Paul Kienitz

UnZip 5.12, Info-Zip Portable Un-zipper

bin uuINuuOUT
Vers:
1.03
Auth:
nicolas-dade@uiuc.edu

uuIn and uuOut are a pair of very rapid uuencode/decoders. They beat anything currently available on aminet by a good margin, especially on decoding.

bin UUxt
Vers:
3.1
Auth:
asher@shell.portal.com

UUxT 3.1 now includes all the features of the previous registered version, with no more annoying popup requesters. (It is still SHAREWARE though, and you are still obligated to register!) It is approx. TEN times faster then previous public releases. I've also squashed several bugs in UUxT-GUI, which is now much more stable.

bin ZOO
Vers:
2.01
Auth:
Olaf Seibert

Version 2.10 of Zoo. Source available.
