Last Update Apr 19, 1995 at 20:51 UT

We have had disk drive failure on our data management system. As a result the forecast and Planetary-K values shown on the Satellite Environment plot will not update. Also, most of the products available through the Gopher server and anonymous ftp will not update. Hopefully, the drive should be repaired by late April 19.
The workstation that acquires and processes solar images is down also.

Full Disk H-alpha image of the sun received 95/04/18 at 18:59 UT from Boulder, Colorado. Image is 512 wide by 480 high, 8 bits per pixel. It is available in GIF format. H-alpha light solar images reveal many features and complexity that tell us what is happening on the Sun. Additional images are available as full-page displays or as files.

Space Weather Outlook

SOLAR ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE
VERY LOW TO LOW. REGION 7863 IS STILL EXPECTED TO PRODUCE
C-CLASS ACTIVITY.

THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS
EXPECTED TO BE MOSTLY QUIET TO UNSETTLED FOR THE NEXT THREE
DAYS.

A more detailed forecast is available.

X-Ray Flux (last 72 Hours)

Plot of X-Ray Flux 5 minute data from the GOES-7 and GOES-8 satellites.

X-ray flux values from the last 3 days, measured on the GOES satellites, are shown. The upper plot shows 1-8 angstrom data, the lower plot 0.0 to 0.4 angstrom data.

Data plot created by Bryan Golding (bgolding@sel.noaa.gov)

Satellite Environment Plot

The Satellite Environment Plot combines satellite and ground-based data to provide an overview of the current geosynchronous satellite environment. Although these data are of interest to the satellite community, they do not include all parameters and energy ranges known to be associated with satellite anomalies.

This is an imagemap so you may obtain a larger scale plot and additional comments by pointing your cursor at one of the graphs and clicking on it.
