The National Performance Review: The Problem, the Solution, the History

The quality of service in the government is below what the public expects and has a right to expect. The majority of the American public believe that the government wastes much of what they pay in taxes. The National Performance Review is committed to finding a solution to this problem.

President Clinton and Vice President Al Gore charged the National Performance Review with creating a new customer service contract with the American people, a guarantee of effective, efficient, and responsive government. Our goal is to make government work better and cost less.

We believe we are making history. This ToolKit provides you with the necessary tools to participate directly in this historic change. In the ToolKit you will find one of the best sources of reinvention information as well as important links to the people and places working to make a customer driven government a reality.

We hope that you will find it helpful and, more importantly, that you will join us to create a government that "Works Better and Costs Less."
