Welcome to the World Wide Web home page for the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IAM) at the University of British Columbia. This home page is still under development .
The Institute of Applied Mathematics is a multi-disciplinary, inter-departmental, research-oriented centre fostering various research and teaching activities in computational and applied mathematics at UBC. It currently has more than 40 faculty members and about 40 IAM graduate students. Each of our faculty and students also has a home department. The IAM students follow a graduate program outlined in the IAM Graduate Student Handbook. The IAM operates a computing laboratory, the Applied Math Lab (AML).
IAM information can also be obtained from our gopher server (gopher.iam.ubc.ca) and our anonymous FTP site (ftp.iam.ubc.ca). A full list of contact phone numbers, mail addresses and electronic address can be found in the list of contact addresses.
