Welcome to the Computer Writing and Research Lab

The CWRL operates computer assisted classes for the Division of Rhetoric and Composition and the Department of English at the University of Texas at Austin. From here you can join our teaching and research in literature, composition, and computer mediated communication; you can find out about our classes and see our student projects, or you can find resources for students and instructors. We also promise not to curl your toes with any squealing chalk.

Today's Specials Are:

Student Resources

The CWRL Student Resource site provides electronic versions of a number of writing tools familiar to all of us, such as dictionaries and style guides in an effort to facilitate and strengthen student writing. Along with making traditional writing easier, the site also explores the new possibilities for composition that arise from the innovations of emerging technologies like hypertext and HTML scripting.
Including, student reference desk (dictionary, thesaurus, style guide, handouts)
