Lunch at CMU

NOTE: For people who were following the "luch delivery" controversy, delivery is back as normal. So pick up that phone and order now!

Currently, I know of two places delivering Indian lunch at CMU. If you know of others, please send me email.

Sree's Foods
Call 781-4765 before 11:00 am to order lunch. Costs $3.00 and is delivered around 12:00 noon on Frew Street outside Scaife Hall. You will get a small appetizer, a chappathy and rice with a choice of a vegetarian or non-vegetarian (chicken or lamb) dish. Rujith de Silva and Chung Tsen provide a nice WWW interface to order lunch from Sree's Foods.

Taste of India
Call 681-7700 before 10:30 am to order lunch. Costs $3.50 and is delivered around 12:00 noon in the basement of Porter Hall near Frew Street. You have get nan and rice with a choice of vegetarian or non-vegetarian (usually chicken) dish.

Lunch off-campus

The following restaurants are known to offer lunch buffet. In most places, lunch buffet starts at 11:30 am and ends at 2:00 pm.

General notes: Some restaurants are not open on Sundays. Most restaurants close at 10:00 pm on all days. Try to get your foot inside the door by 10:00 pm.

Dosa Hut

Specializes in South Indian snacks - Dosas, Uthappam, Vadai, Idli etc. Recently added lunch hours. Apparently, Dosa Hut has been closed for renovation and will repoen in April. So please call before you go.

Mughlai kind of food. Attached to an Inn.

South Indian food. Best dosas in town!!! Not to mention their very special Andhra pesarattu. They are not open for lunch on weekdays since they deliver at CMU.
