Hammered Dulcimer on the World Wide Web (WWW)
LOOKING FOR CONTRIBUTORS......
WE NEED MORE STUFF!!
Let's make this a really GREAT resource for ALL hammered dulcimer players, new and old. Send ideas, text files, pictures, videofiles, audiofiles for inclusion on this page. If you have dulcimer-related resources on your OWN web server, or know of others that exist, let me know, I'll set up the appropriate links.
Happy Hammering!!!!
I would highly recommend using Netscape to view this page, as well as any other pages. Netscape is definitely the best Web browser out there. To get it via ftp, click here.
Bob Gotwals (gotwals@mcnc.org), keeper of the page.
MANY THANKS to the folks at the Triangle FreeNet, housed on
the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill, North Carolina ("University of National Champions")

- A Brief History of the Hammered Dulcimer:
contains a one page text file on the history of the dulcimer. Additional or different versions welcome!

Image and Sound Files (that don't particularly fit elsewhere!)
- Maestro-WAV / Hammered Dulcimer: Have you ever wanted to try playing a hammered dulcimer you wanted
to buy, but the maker was hundreds of miles away? Flyers, catalogs, and
magazines can't do it... but the World Wide Web can!!! Connect to this resource and try it out! (courtesy of Roger Chen, of Griffin Music)
- Dulcimer from Egypt (large GIF file):
A picture of Egyptian bar musicians, one of whom is playing
a dulcimer-like instrument, but apparently with his fingers rather
than hammers! It's quite a nice shot, and a good view of the instrument.
