The National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC) is the deep archive for NASA planetary and lunar data in digital, document, and photographic formats. NSSDC is responsible for the distribution of planetary images and other data to scientists, educators, and the general public. All digital, paper copy, and photographic data are made available to requesters on a cost-recovery basis. Many of these data sets are available on CD-ROM. The NSSDC CD-ROM Catalog is a catalog that lists NSSDC CD-ROM sets. This catalog and more information about other off-line data may obtained by sending e-mail to request@nssdca.gsfc.nasa.gov.
This page is divided into three parts:
- What's New which tells about the latest planetary data available at NSSDC, the newest pages and updates to the Web, and upcoming planetary events and missions.
- NSSDC Resources with links to information on planets, planetary missions and planetary images and data held at NSSDC, including the NASA Master Directory and NSSDC Master Catalog.
- Other Resources with links to other sources of planetary data and information.

What's New in Planetary Science

- A World Wide Web link to the NSSDC Master Catalog is now available for planetary as well as lunar missions. The Master Catalog holds detailed information on missions, experiments, and data held at NSSDC.

- Hubble images of Mars indicate the atmosphere may have cooled considerably since the Viking 1 and 2 spacecraft visited in the mid-70's. These and other images of Mars are available on the NSSDC Photo Gallery Mars page.

- The new Lunar Exploration pages with links to the NASA Master Catalog and information on lunar data available at NSSDC have been completed.

- The PDS Welcome to the Planets CD-ROM is now available for DOS/Windows as well as for Macintosh.
