Statewide Continuing Education works with UTŐs campus-based divisions and statewide institutes to extend the UniversityŐs resources to all Tennessee communities. The campus-based continuing education units provide credit and non-credit programs for non-traditional students. Credit courses are scheduled to enable working adults to obtain an undergraduate or graduate degree while maintaining full employment. Non-credit courses offer opportunities to obtain specialized certification, business management or skills training, professional development, or human interest activities.
Programs are offered for students of all ages, ranging from youth to senior citizens, although most are working adults. Courses are delivered via satellite, two-way interactive video, and independent study; at job sites; and in traditional classrooms in the evenings, early mornings, or on weekends, as well as during regular daytime hours.
With a focus of lifelong learning, Statewide Continuing Education assists the campuses and institutes in enhancing the human potential and quality of life for all Tennesseans.
