Mission and Goals
The mission of the SPAWAR INFOSEC office (PD71) is to be a single point of contact for planning, development, acquisition, implementation, and lifecycle support of standard INFOSEC products.
Our goals are to:
- Provide a single point of contact for Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast
Guard INFOSEC support.
- Provide planning, development, acquisition, fielding, and life cycle
support for INFOSEC products.
- Conduct advanced engineering, development, and production of standard
information system, security components.
- Develop INFOSEC training and awareness programs.

Organization
The director of the INFOSEC office is Irwin Smietan.
The INFOSEC office is divided into three main divisions:

Projects
- Templates and Guideline
- The SPAWAR INFOSEC Office has developed a number of guidelines and
templates for the various reports and plans that are required to document
computer security.
- Certification Automation Study
- This study
provides SPAWAR PD 71 with an overview of automated tools and techniques that
could support the system security engineering process and the certification and
accreditation (C&A) process while increasing the effectiveness and success
of the limited Naval INFOSEC community resources.

- The IUDR provides information about Naval INFOSEC assets and how they
interact. The abstract provides more

- Briefly describes all INFOSEC publications from NAVSO. Highlighted
names index on-line versions of the document.
- Computer Security Advisories
- Full text of NAVCIRT advisories on computer security. You must
be in the MIL domain to access this information.
- NIST Computer Security Procurement Guidelines
- Guidelines for integrating computer security concerns into federal
information processing equipment procurement.
- NRL CompuSec Library
- The Naval Research Laboratory maintains an on-line library of COMPUSEC
material including the NSA Rainbow series.

The Center for High Assurance Computing Systems conducts interdisciplinary
research and development in techniques for processing and communicating
data that preserve critical system properties, such as security, safety,
availability, and timely delivery of computational results.

- The Defense Technical Information Center operates the Hypertext On-line
Virtual Library for Acquisition News and Electronic information. This is
a good starting point for Internet exploration.

- Another good compendium of internet resources bought to you by the

- Naval Surface Warfare Center (PHD)
- The Port Hueneme Division of NSWC provides information on projects,
organization, and personnel.

updated hourly. We also provide a more graphical way of tracking usage.
