Welcome to the Palo Alto Airport (PAO) Home Page

Current weather at PAO

The Palo Alto Airport of Santa Clara County is one of Palo Alto's busiest and most versatile resources. The airport is ideally situated in an unpopulated area at the edge of the San Francisco Bay, only minutes away from downtown Palo Alto, Stanford, and Silicon Valley. PAO is the home to over 500 aircraft, 22 businesses, and a number of important flight operations. Revenues from the airport more than support its cost of operation, with the surplus going into the Airport Enterprise Fund. Tax revenues generated by the airport are also shared with the City of Palo Alto and the Palo Alto School District.

Kramer squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) engages in many Search & Rescue operations each year in addition to a variety of educational programs. Palo Alto is also home to the Stanford hospital helicopter, which makes medical flights to the world-renowned Stanford Hospital. Palo Alto pilots also participate in Angel Flight, a volunteer medical flight transportation organization, and Los Medicos Voladores, volunteers bringing medical care to remote Mexican communities..
