So why not make and record music especially for the automotive environment? Music engineered to play in the close quarters of an automobile, and music that matches the mood and surroundings of the enthusiastic audiophile-driver.
That's exactly what a new music company, Hands On Music Inc., of Memphis, Tennessee has jmust done. Their first in a series recorded and mastered specifically to sound the best on car audio systems-- they call this new music category DRIVING MUSIC-- has just been issued.
"DRIVING BEVERLY HILLS" by the new group, RoadMusic, was mixed by Grammy Award winning engineer Humberto Gatica, well known for his work with Chicago, Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones. Gatica set up a lab environment to match the level of performance that can be attained in a car and has succeeded in creating a brand new sound that outperforms any other CD when played inside a moving automobile, without the use of extra equipment. Hands On calls the process "Precision Mastering", and claims the sound quality inside the automobile surpasses anything on the market today. The quality remains the same on cassette tape (HOM-416-C) as it does on CD(HOM-416).
"DRIVING BEVERLY HILLS", the first ever sample of this brand new music category, was created by Mark Portmann of the Rippingtons. The experience of his recording and performing with many GRP all stars and Barbara Steisand, Peabo Bryson, David Foster, and George Duke set the stage for writing, arranging, playing and producing Driving Beverly Hills.
