UMDS

The two main campuses of UMDS are in central London, one in Waterloo facing the Houses of Parliament, the other in Southwark by London Bridge.

UMDS was formed by the merger, in 1982, of the Guy's and St Thomas's Medical Schools. It was joined in 1983 by the Royal Dental Hospital of London School of Dental Surgery and, in 1985, by the Institute of Dermatology.

  Going around the hospital, I have noticed a lot of old computer equipment being thrown out, presumably for upgrading, and I couldn't help thinking that a lot of local schools would be crying out for things like this. I wonder if you could put something like the following message in the appropriate section on the Local Internet Home Page.

  "Computer equipment is desperately needed by local schools. If you are throwing anything out (old computer systems, software, mice etc.) and think it may be suitable, please contact Julian Ma (Xt 5459) who will arrange for distribution."
