BSR S3.5, Methods for the Calculation of the Speech
Intelligibility Index (revision of ANSI S3.5-1969 (R1986))
Defines a method for computing a physical measure, called
the Speech Intelligibility Index or SII, that is highly
correlated with the intelligibility of speech as evaluated
by speech perception tests given a group of talkers and
listeners.

BSR S1.43, Specification for Integrating-Averaging Sound
Level Meters (new standard)
Describes instruments for the measurement of frequency-
weighed and time-average sound pressure levels. Optionally,
sound exposure levels may be measured. This standard is
consistent with the relevant requirements of Specification
for Sound Level Meters, ANSI S1.4-1983, but specifies
additional characteristics that are necessary to measure the
equivalent continuous sound pressure level of steady,
intermittent, fluctuating, and impulsive sounds.
