Welcome to the Music department of the World-Wide Web Virtual Library. The primary purpose of this server is to contain references to the biggest music-related meta-information catalogues on the Internet. This server does not intend to be a comprehensive catalogue of specific music resources. However, as this page is quite popular and visible, it also contains information on a variety of interesting specific resources. References to specific resources such as artists' homepages are mostly updated on request, that is, if you maintain a music-related server of some sort and want it to appear here, drop a note to the maintainer at webmaster@syy.oulu.fi or fill this update request form. I am behind with the requests, but I will eventually process them. I usually update the pages once in 2-3 weeks.

If you fail to find what you are looking for in a manually maintained list such as this or the other meta-lists, try some automatically generated index of web resources. They are much more exhaustive than manually kept lists can ever be. My current favourites are WebCrawler and Lycos.
