Provide the President and his senior advisors with accurate, comprehensive, and timely foreign intelligence relating to the national security; and to conduct counterintelligence activities, special activities, and other functions relating to foreign intelligence and national security as the President and the National Security Council may direct.
To fulfill its mission, the CIA must collect, process, exploit, analyze, and disseminate foreign intelligence by employing a highly skilled diverse workforce and state-of-the-art technical systems and devices; protect intelligence sources and methods; con duct research on, develop, and procure technical systems and devices; protect the security of its installations, activities, and people; and provide necessary administrative and logistical support, as well as services of common concern to the Intelligence Community.
