An object-oriented toolkit for building interactive World Wide Web applications, by Paul Burchard at the Geometry Center
The World Wide Web now enjoys both client- and server-side standards (HTML 2.0, HTML 3.0, and CGI 1.1) which support the development and deployment of distributed interactive graphical applications using standard HTTP clients and servers. Nevertheless, implementing sophisticated applications based directly on these standards is not straightforward.
W3Kit is an object-oriented application development environment whose goal is to provide both the developer and the user of WWW applications with a conceptually simple, familiar GUI metaphor, including support for interactive 2D and 3D graphics. Sample applications built with W3Kit can be found in the Geometry Center Interactive Gallery.
New! The Cyberview 3D Document Generator, a W3Kit application supporting rotatable 3D imagemaps in HTML documents, is now available for selected server platforms.
